FAQ's

The most common questions we get asked about Onyst:
  • Many people find whey and plant-based proteins can cause bloating, digestive issues, skin issues and inflammation due to the processed dairy (in whey), anti-nutrients (in plant proteins) and gut disrupting additives often used (in both).

If you look at the back of any protein powder you see around, you'll likely find ingredients you have never heard of ... probably not the best sign.

Our whole food protein uses just 6 real food ingredients, without any additives, stevia, whey or pesticide-sprayed plant agriculture. It was made for those of us who truly care about what we put into our bodies.

Also, because we use whole food ingredients, our blend doesn't just offer protein, but also bioavailable micronutrients that help your body to thrive each day :)

  • Onyst is for you if you prioritise eating real, whole foods and want a protein blend that matches this lifestyle.

Yes, getting proper nutrition from meals is key, but with today’s busy schedules and heavily processed options, it’s not always easy. If you need a simple way to boost your protein and micronutrient intake without ultra-processed ingredients, Onyst makes it effortless and affordable.

Also, if whey or vegan proteins haven’t worked for you - whether it’s bloating, sluggishness, dairy intolerance or taste - this could be a better alternative. Every ingredient is naturally gut-friendly, easy to digest, and packed with more than just protein.

Ultimately, it depends on what you're looking for, but if any of the above resonates with you, just know, Onyst was made for people like you.

  • An indulgently wholesome flavour that’s smooth, gently sweet, and easy to enjoy every day 😋

Our cacao option has a delicate dark chocolate taste, whilst vanilla is for those looking for a bit more of a blank slate, capturing slight hints of pure vanilla pods alongside a creamy texture.

In both, the crushed dates and coconut nectar create a subtle dessert like sweetness without the need for any stevia or artificial sweeteners/flavourings.

We spent months refining the recipe to get this balance just right, making sure there’s no meaty or eggy taste, but rather a flavour people actually enjoy having in a wide variety of forms like milks, smoothies, coffee, yoghurt bowls and even baked goods.

With both cacao and vanilla to choose from, you can try both and find your favourite 🍫🍦

    *Please note
that we only use real vanilla bean in our blend, not extracts or so called "natural" flavourings, which means the 'vanilla' flavour is much more subtle compared to most vanilla flavoured protein powders.

  • As mentioned throughout our website, the optimum benefits of Onyst Whole Food Protein come from long term, consistent use.

We designed this protein blend to offer whole food nutrition that extends beyond a protein figure, therefore, to experience the best results, a scoop every day is what we reccommend.

*A lot of our customers like to have it in a daily smoothie or yoghurt bowl 😋

With that being said, we understand everyone's lifestyle and budget is different and if you instead want to aim for every other day, that's still great!

The key is to do what's best for you whilst making a conscious effort to use consistently over time.

  • First and foremost, we love honey - it’s an incredible food, rich in natural sweetness and nutrients. But when exploring honey in it's powdered form, we found most options were blended with additives like maltodextrin, and pure honey powder was so rare and expensive that it would have made our Whole Food Protein unaffordable for many.

Coconut nectar was the perfect solution. Sustainably tapped from coconut palms and gently heated to crystallisation, it remains completely pure in its sugar form, preserving its natural vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals.

With a subtle caramel-like sweetness and a low glycemic index of 35, it enhances flavour whilst keeping blood sugar levels steady compared to refined sugars.

Plus, the Food and Agriculture Organisation have declared it as the 'single most sustainable sweetener in the world'!

  • We aim to have all UK orders arrive within 2-3 working days once dispatched.

  • The optimum benefits of Onyst Whole Food Protein come from consistent, long term use and this is how most of our customers choose to consume it.

For this reason, we chose to offer a subscribe and save feature where you can replenish your pouch automatically whilst saving a significant amount of money on each purchase compared to a one time purchase.

We generally recommend using the product consistently for at least 2 months to see the results when fully integrated into your lifestyle & routine!

As life is unpredictable, we've made sure you can skip, pause, edit or cancel your subscription at any time via our website - sort of a no brainer really.

    • Grass-Fed Beef Protein
    • Free Range Whole Egg
    • Raw Cacao or Ground Vanilla Bean
    • Dates
    • Coconut nectar
    • Celtic Sea Salt

    Yep, that's it!

We massively believe in never compromising on what you put into your body, so we made sure to set strict standards and take as long as we needed to find the highest-quality sources for these ingredients. It is this level of perfectionism that has allowed us to be genuinely proud of what we have made and we hope you appreciate it as much as we appreciate you!

  • As Onyst Whole Food Protein is best taken daily, we opted for a 30 serving bag. This means you can purchase a pouch for every month, or if you would rather take it every other day, a pouch every two months.

  • To understand what 'beef protein' is / how it is made, it's good to start by thinking about how you make bone broth. You chuck leftover bones in water and slowly simmer it over time to extract the nutrients, collagen, and gelatine. Our beef protein is similar, but with one key difference: we also use muscle meat along with the bones. This ensures that the protein is not only complete, providing all nine essential amino acids, but also rich in the collagen and gelatine found in bone broth - so you get the best of both worlds!

Just like with bone broth, the process involves slowly boiling the meat and bones with nothing but water to extract the protein, collagen, and gelatine, which are then carefully dried into a powder. This is done using no chemicals or enzymes, just a slow, low-heat method that preserves both the macro and micronutrients. The result is a pure, clean beef protein isolate.

  • Our beef protein is exclusively sourced from Grass Fed cattle, raised on the pristine pastures of Scandinavia.

This natural lifestyle ensures the cows enjoy a low-stress life, without any GMO or antibiotics - which translates into high quality, nutrient-dense beef.

  • Regarding direct performance, there are minimal studies comparing the two, however, of those that do, the results are positive. For example, Sharp, M.et al.(2015) compared the results of athletes supplementing beef protein powder vs whey protein powder and found that those supplementing with beef put on more lean body mass and lost more fat than those supplementing with whey.

  • We have good news ... whole egg in powdered form still remains incredibly nutrient-dense, with the vast majority of its essential vitamins, minerals, and amino acids well-preserved.

Research published in Frontiers in Nutrition (Pirkwieser et al., 2022) confirms that all key minerals and trace elements, including magnesium, calcium, selenium etc, are fully retained (100%), while essential amino acids - including the branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) crucial for muscle recovery - stay impressively high:

    • Leucine: 95% retained
    • Valine: 94% retained
    • Isoleucine: 94% retained

Fat-soluble vitamins and antioxidants also hold strong:

    • Vitamin A: 86% retained
    • Vitamin D: 85% retained
    • Vitamin E: 100% retained
    • Lutein (antioxidant): 100% retained

While there is a slight reduction in Omega-6 fatty acid, linoleic acid, (61% retained), the overall fat content remains stable, keeping the egg’s natural nutritional profile largely the same.

Finally, vitamins B1, B6 and B12 essentially remain intact, whilst vitamin B2 has a slight reduction of 20%.

    The Bottom Line?

Whole egg is often referred to as 'nature's multivitamin', and even in powdered form, it keeps nearly all of its natural goodness. That’s exactly why we include it in our protein blend - it delivers real, whole-food nutrition, packed with high-quality protein and essential micronutrients, in a quick and convenient way.
